I am a Teaching Assistant Professor in Computer Science at University of Pittsburgh. Previously, I was an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at Weber State University and a research scientist at Snap Inc. Also, I got my Ph.D. from University of Pittsburgh working with Computer Vision. My research interests are computer vision, machine learning and natural language processing. I am advised by Prof. Adriana Kovashka. I mainly work with attribute recognition. Many of my projects involve deep learning, gaze prediction, transfer learning, reinforcement learning, and metric learning.
I received my Master from the Mathematics and Computer Science Institute (ICMC-USP) at University of Sao Paulo, Brasil. My advisor was Prof. Alneu Lopes, and I was part of the Computational Intelligence Laboratory (LABIC). I mainly worked with ensemble algorithms applied to graph-based classifiers. I got my undergrad from National University of Trujillo, Peru with a major in computer science. Also, I was a member of the Computer Science Students Society (SECC).
